Why might the scales creep up during hot weather ?

If you’ve done nothing differently lately yet you feel bloated , heavy or a bit puffier as I say! It could be one or all of the following reasons so don’t stress and stay hydrated  ……

💜Your body retains fluid to help regulate temperature. When it’s hot, your blood vessels widen and your body shifts fluids around to help keep you cool. This can make you hold an extra water.

💜Electrolyte changes. If you’re sweating a lot but not replacing sodium and other electrolytes your body may hold onto water to maintain the right balance.

💜You’re drinking more. You should be!! More fluid intake means you may simply have more water in your system at the time you step on the scales.

💜You may be less active. Hot weather can reduce your overall movement (walking, less intense training etc.) which can also contribute to feeling a bit puffy!

💜Inflammation from training. Exercising in the heat is more stressful on the body, so muscles may retain extra water while they recover.

So basically its nearly all water weight! :) :) so keep drinking lots and lots and keep moving as much as you can :) the heatwave probably wont last much longer anyway haha so make the most of it! :) :)
