Is trying to change everything all at once far too quickly which leads to unsustainable habits, feeling overwhelmed ,feeling of being a failure leading to a lack of self confidence/belief.
Instead start off with small changes and build up slowly to prevent overwhelming yourself .....
Stop focusing on numbers on the scales or body fat machines !!! they do not tell you if you are healthier , fitter , stronger, happier and have more confidence!!
If you are looking to change your daily habits to live a healthier lifestyle for a better quality of life then here’s a few tips on where to start sensibly and in a sustainable way .....
1- Drink 2.5-3 litres water a day - BUT if you barely drink 1 litre at the moment then week one start at 1.5l, week two 2l and then week three 2.5-3litres.

2- Move more generally don't go and start running 3x a week if you never have!! Start with things like - walk to work, walk the school run, on your lunch break, before or after work, do extra cardio in the gym for 10-20 min after weights if you have time , take the stairs where possible , a healthy lifestyle needs a healthy fit heart.
3- Get outside daily, go for a walk or just sit in nature - the woods, a lake, the fells, beach, near a river. 20 mins at least outside everyday has several mental health & wellbeing benefits.
4- Eat a protein source and fruit or veggies with each meal to keep you fuller & more fibre and for your micronutrients. Don’t stress over counting calories and macros at first just nail the basics then you can fine tune it later if you have more specific goals.
Protein sources - meat, fish , eggs don't over complicate thinking you need to go and buy protein powders and supplements ...real food first always!

5- Sleep hygiene - no screen time at least 1 hour before bed , try reading or meditating/listening to sleepcast before
going to sleep to wind down . Aim for a similar bed time and get up routine each day ideally getting at least 7 -8 hours ( I know with kids this one isn’t always possible but do your best getting an early night if you know you are up in the night or early with them !)
Daily habits to help you feel amazing doesn’t mean chasing numbers - it’s chasing how you want to feel in yourself and how you want to live your life - that’s the real purpose …. Because what’s the point of making the effort if you still don’t feel happy in your own skin?
You have to FEEL the changes before you SEE them - let that feeling be your motivation each day not numbers on the scales -You can be the lightest you've ever been and still unhappy ....... read that again ... xxx
