SUPPLEMENTS …. Do you need them?? …

The supplement world is so confusing with so many diff products all claiming to help you lose fat, build muscle, reduce fatigue, improve performance, speed up your metabolism… and much more!! 


Truth is in my opinion you can spend a fortune on these products but if you still have nailed the basics they won’t do anything for you !! No magic pill , no magic supplement whatever your goal is .. hard work & consistency will always get you there! 



So always make sure before you ADD in any supplement you have the basics nailed first ….............


- are you drinking at least 2.5 litres water a day? 

- are you eating enough protein to support your goals and is it coming from real food first? 

- are you getting enough quality sleep? 

- are you eating the calories calculated to support your goal/s ? 

- are you having rest days to allow recovery in between workouts ? 

- are you making time for yourself for some switch off time like reading/ listening to a book, getting a massage, having no screen time before bed and not as soon as you wake up, meditating, going for a walk alone in nature all to allow your nervous system to regulate and function optimally? 


If you answered yes to all of the above but you still feel like you aren’t recovering as well , maybe you’ve cranked up your training and need that bit extra help, maybe the kids are going through a not sleeping phase ( this one hits me often 😣 sleep is my biggest let down) or if your cals are low in a deficit and you struggle to meet your protein goal then yes this is where supplements can help but always try tick the above boxes first before diving in to supplements as your first shout .

💜 Electrolytes- only when I’ve ran or had a sweaty session - so yeh most days I’ll have this ha! 


💜 Protein powder recovery blend from Raw Sport - it has extras in like all the aminos / it’s natural too so added nasties that can cause tummy upsets and it makes my oats taste nicer! 


💜 I have just started taking turmeric/ginger tabs from Nutrition geek - hoping they help reduce inflammation and help with digestion - I’ll let use know if I feel a difference too soon to tell yet!
